Huzzah Hoosier Pennant
The premier vintage base ball event in Indiana and a great way to conclude your season. Twelve or more clubs expected for 2008, 16 clubs maximum.
Host club: Village at Winona Blue Laws.
Location: Winona Lake, Indiana. Five fields in operation around the town.
Date: October 4, 2008 (rain date, October 5).
All clubs play three seven-inning matches in one day. Semi-competitive format, must have .667 winning record to qualify, then Tournament Champion is determined by an all-clubs vote from pool of qualified candidates. Festival atmosphere - tournament part of Village at Winona Fall Festival, live music, craft demonstrations, food vendors, etc.
Club Awards include: Huzzah Hoosier Pennant Tournament Champion Club, Crank's Choice Club.
Individual competitions include: Billy Sunday Home to Home Speed Contest, Golden Arm Longest Throw, Heavy Lumber Longest Strike, Dead-Eye Accuracy Throw, Soft Hands Juggling Contest, Chalk the Line Best Tally Keeper, and Square Deal Best Umpire.
